MEDIA FORMATS

The movies on this site are available in three different formats: Windows Media, Real Media, and MPEG-4.

Broadband Users:

The MPEG-4 format offers the best picture quality but it also has the largest file size. MPEG-4 movies generally run about 5 megabytes per minute, so longer download times for this format are normal. The MPEG-4 video files are compressed at 1.56 Mbps. Windows Media Player, RealOne Player, Quicktime Player, iTunes, and your video iPod will play the MPEG-4 format -- as well as, some mobile phones.. The Windows Media video files and RealOne Player video files are compressed at 1,500 Kbps.

Dial-Up Users:

If you are on a dial-up connection, you have the choice of a Windows Media Player video file or RealOne Player video file. To allow for a more viewable file, the dial-up video files are compressed at 128 Kbps.

Non-Streaming Format:

All video files (.WMV, .RM, & .MP4) in the Members' Area are configured to be downloaded to a subscriber's respective hard drive. In Internet Explorer, right-click on the movie link, select "Save Target As..." (in Firefox, "Save Link As..."), specify a location for the file, and click OK. The file will download. Once finished, click "Open" and the movie should play without difficulty.

FINE PRINT

The ClubAmateurUSA members' area contains more than 280 full-length, 25 - 60 minute videos. Each video storyboard also has 75 - 200 digital images (640 x 480 pixels) captured directly from each video and made available for download in a .ZIP file. All videos on ClubAmateurUSA are setup for downloading to your hard drive and are not setup for streaming. ClubAmateurUSA videos do not incorporate DRM protection. The videos are available in Windows Media, Real Media, and / or MP4 formats for both broadband and dial-up users.

At no additional cost to you, four webcam shows per week are provided by "Live & Raw" and are included as a value-add to your ClubAmateurUSA / Badpuppy subscription.

ClubAmateurUSA is compatible with Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7.0, Apple's Safari 3.1, and Mozilla's Firefox 3.0. The site incorporates Adobe's Flash technology and as of January 16, 2012 will require the latest version of Adobe Flash Player for your preferred browser in order to appropriately render the Flash elements incorporated into the site.

Additionally, if you have HIGH security enabled for the integrated pop-up blocker within Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7.0, links within ClubAmateurUSA that are formatted to open a new browser window or tab, will be disabled by the IE7 integrated pop-up blocker and will not work for you. You will need to set the IE7 integrated pop-up blocker's security settings to MEDIUM.
